Top Brisbane Christmas Events

Christmas is only a couple of weeks away and there is a lot to get excited for! There are a number of events, thanks to refrigerated trucks and mobile cold rooms, which are ready to delight and feed the masses! In this post, we share some top Brisbane Christmas events you might want to check out.

Eat and Beats Christmas Festival 2016

Do you love Christmas time? Do you consider yourself a foodie? Then this just might be the event for you. Head to Logan City for the lively pop up food truck and music festival to get into the festive mood. Already kicking off last month in Jimbooba, the entire festival is held at 5 different towns of Logan over several weeks, saving the best and biggest for last, at Logan Hyperdome, this 16 December from 5-9pm. Eat and Beats Christmas Festival’s secret is not just the sizzling street food, together with talented live local entertainment, but also the infusion of Christmas traditions like Christmas village markets and strolling carollers. You’ll not only be filled with good food, but with good cheer as well. And Santa will be a very special guest for the littlies.

Southbank Christmas Markets

Once again, South Bank is at the centre of awesome Christmas celebrations here in brisbane. From 16-23 December, head along for a stroll along the wonderful Southbank Christmas Markets. Stalwart and Mister Churros will be whipping up crispy treats to eat on the spot, and Carcamo’s Gourmet Caramel Apple, Fudge Forever and The Little Gingerbread Cottage will have eats to enjoy on the spot or take home and give as gifts.

Christmas Parade

Brisbane’s favourite family tradition, the Christmas Parade, returns to The City this December. Traditional Christmas carols and music will certainly make you feel the true spirit of Christmas. The parade features a nativity scene, dozens of performers and dancers, and Santa, of course. It will be held nightly from 7pm from 16-24 December and commences at the Edward street end of the Queen St. Mall. It then weaves its way through the CBD, culminating at King George Square.

Christmas Fireworks at Southbank

Already thought of as a Brisbane tradition, the Christmas Fireworks will explode over Brisbane on the evening of 20-23 December, set to a fun, Christmas carols soundtrack. Make sure you’re there well before the scheduled time of 7.45pm, to grab a good vantage spot and can enjoy the full fifteen minutes of the colourful fireworks show. The sizzling show will be visible from pretty much anywhere along the South Brisbane reach of the river and other vantage points but best views, as last year audience members raved about, head to the Clem Jones Promenade or Streets beach.

Overlooking the Brisbane River

There are numerous events held on Christmas day where you can create special Christmas memories for sure, but what more memorable way than to celebrate Christmas in style overlooking the Brisbane River? From Christmas breakfast cruises featuring breakfast buffet favourites such as eggs, bacon, pastries and more to leisurely upmarket Christmas lunch buffets for example, at the Stamford. You could also host your own Christmas Breakfast or Lunch along the river using a refrigerated truck or mobile cold room to cater for bigger outdoor groups such as family reunions.
